There are no days off.

February 27th, 2010

Whenever you talk to friends or acquaintances who are self-employed, you tend to hear the line “I’m the toughest boss I’ve ever had” – and it’s true. To a certain extent.

The truth of my experience with working from home is not that I am a tough boss (far from it – I’m always skipping out and goofing off) rather that the line between work and life gets very blurry. Without that ritual act of going to work, it becomes hard to turn off that part of your mind at the end of the day. But I’m not going to complain. I get paid to watch documentaries and ride my bike around town delivering orders. So while I may work 7 days a week, I also get to take days off just because I feel like it. Not too bad really.

Finally working on this thing again.

Don’t go getting yourself too excited now.
